GAPCAP™ Earns U.S. Patents
Both the TopCap and FasciaCap lines are now protected by U.S. Design Patents — securing the innovation behind GAPCAP™'s decking solution.
GAPCAP™, the American-made decking-accessory brand founded by Andrea and Doug Bierer, is proud to announce that both our FasciaCap and TopCap lines are now patented in the United States.
GAPCAP™ was created to solve a problem — the unsightly corner gaps that form as deck boards naturally expand and contract with the seasons. Now, with patents secured on both pieces of the system, that innovation is officially protected:
- TopCap — U.S. Patent No. D1,127,226 S
- FasciaCap — U.S. Patent No. D1,119,558 S
Earning a U.S. Design Patent isn't quick or easy. The process is rigorous, often taking up to two years from application to approval. Every submission is carefully reviewed by examiners at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), who evaluate the originality of the design before granting protection. Once approved, that protection lasts 15 years — giving GAPCAP™ exclusive rights to the designs that make our solution stand apart in the decking industry.
As GAPCAP™ continues to grow — expanding across new markets and retail partnerships — this patented protection reinforces what our partners and customers already know: GAPCAP™ is a uniquely designed, American-made solution built to last.
